Your brake system is one of the key safety elements of your vehicle. To ensure your vehicle responds immediately when you press the brake pedal and comes to a complete stop when desired, it is important to be familiar with the signs of worn brake parts that are in need of replacement or repair. Many vehicles now have advanced computer systems that can alert the driver when maintenance is needed on their brake system. However, not all of us have a “super smart” car, and if you do, it’s still a good idea to know the warning signs before things get too bad or even to a dangerous state. Here are some common “symptoms” that may indicate your brake system needs to be looked at: high pitched or squealing sound, brake pedal presses down too easily (loss of pressure), vehicle pulls to one side when braking, a grinding sound when using the brakes.
